Step into an alternate timeline at the Southern Maine Steampunk Fest, where Victorian steam power meets modern imagination! This day-long celebration of all things steampunk explores the question: What if steam technology had powered our future?
This event began in 2015 at the Brick Store Museum and has since grown to an incredible visitor-favorite event over the past ten years. As of 2025, the Brick Store Museum changed the name of our Steampunk Fair to Steampunk FEST, to better describe the atmosphere and function of this event.
Held across the historic Brick Store Museum campus, the festival invites visitors to immerse themselves in a world of retro-futurism inspired by the works of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. Enjoy eclectic vendors, one-of-a-kind art, lively discussions, and hands-on activities that explore the “future of history”—how the past continues to shape the worlds we dream of.
Come in costume, bring your curiosity, and prepare to journey 20,000 leagues into a world where gears turn dreams into reality!
Despite its niche fandom, the Steampunk Fest gathers participants from throughout New England. This event is one of the Museum’s largest fundraisers annually, raising funds for the Museum’s educational mission in the southern Maine region.
