Todd Rodriguez Celebrating 20 Years at SBSI

Todd Rodriguez, Core Operations Manager at Saco & Biddeford Savings, recently celebrated his 20-year work anniversary!

His journey began far from here, in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was there he initiated his career in banking, using a software known as MISER in 1987.

In the following years, Todd transitioned into working directly for the MISER software company at a data center situated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His dedication and expertise led him to be offered a position in Orlando, Florida in 1997, where he continued playing a pivotal role within the MISER team.

Orlando also proved significant in other ways; it was there that Todd met his future wife who was employed at the company's Worcester, Massachusetts branch and was receiving training in Orlando. Their relationship blossomed into marriage and later they had two children together.

Sensing a need to be closer to family, Todd along with his wife, Kelly, began exploring opportunities in New Orleans and New England. This quest culminated with Todd securing his current role at Saco & Biddeford Savings in 2004.

Moving to the unfamiliar territory of New England presented its own challenges, including an initial culture shock, but Todd navigated these with grace.

Throughout his tenure, Todd has skillfully maintained the MISER Core system. This prowess did not go unnoticed, leading him to graduate from the New England School of Banking in 2009 and receive a well-deserved promotion to the position of Vice President.

Despite an early sense of being an outsider, the warm welcome extended by everyone at the bank greatly eased his transition. He fondly recalls casual interactions with Kevin Savage, the then president of the bank, which deepened his bond with his colleagues. Over time, they have transformed from mere co-workers to what he affectionately refers to as his "work family."

Outside of his professional life, Todd cherishes cooking traditional New Orleans dishes such as red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya, boiled shrimp or crawfish and char-broiled oysters. In particular, his mother's gumbo recipe has become widely popular among his peers in New England.

In addition, Todd takes pleasure in scale modeling, especially crafting model cars at a 1/24 scale. He revels in the meticulous detailing that allows him to add elements like spark-plug wires, hoses, and brake lines. This hobby has also sparked an interest in airbrushing and creating custom colors for his car projects.

Please join us in congratulating Todd on this incredible achievement! #ItsAMutualThing
