If you're looking for a way to beat the heat this summer, there's a brand-new spot in Saco that’s perfect for just that!
A fun-filled splash pad has officially opened next to the Saco Community Center on Franklin Street, offering a refreshing way for kids—and even grownups—to cool off on warm days. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the splash pad is completely free to use and designed with interactive water features that spray, mist and pour water in all directions.
This project was made possible through a collaborative effort between the City of Saco, the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club, and several community-minded businesses and organizations. After years of planning, fundraising and dedication, the end result is a vibrant public play area that is sure to bring joy to the whole community.
Local leaders, volunteers and families gathered last week for an opening celebration and marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting, and despite the chilly spring weather, a few brave souls even ran through the water. The splash pad is already being hailed as a space that will bring people of all ages together during the sunny months ahead.
At SBSI, we’re proud to support community spaces like this that bring people closer and enrich the places we call home. We deeply appreciate all those who have contributed—and will continue to contribute—to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people throughout Maine through their positive actions.
